Secret Cities will be filled with Magical Works with a definite japanese influence.

Projects and New Ideas

Hello

I haven't posted in quite a while, so id better make up with this post! ;-)

Over the last few months i have taken on quite a few projects and they are all finishing up.

i have been working on the Latest BLOCK 9 magazine. watch out for it in shops near you!(if they stock independent zines that is. ( i know Smiths Books shop in Canberra has a great collection)

also i have made a new Poster for the Acoustic Soup Night @ the Food Co-op here in Canberra.

its pretty rocking and busy!

Actually im looking for Bands and Events that need funky Posters, i want Charge much! ;-)

Also i have moved into a studio space for at least the rest of the year, which is choice!! ;-D other news, is that im busy creating works for a 2010 Solo exhibition tour! This is really Exciting stuff! so i will keep anyone that actually reads this blog posted! hehe

Australia

relaxing in Gunnedah and getting used to australia again.

i miss the fast keepin it real life that i had in tokyo, but im glad too be home too.

Im putting together new works for a exhibition this year in canberra called "Secret Cities", more details coming soon.

High Lights From Design Festa 2009

Ok This event was awwsome!!

check out some the antics and cool art that was at the

festival, i might need to get a real camera one day soon.

Trip to Kawagoe, Mini Exhibition and Mural.

On the weekend lara and i visited our friends in Kawagoe, they kindly made us a huge vegetarian spread and gave us a tour of Kawagoe temples and the old town strip. big thanks to naoki-san and his family.

I also i had a min exhibition at Design Festa Gallery in Harajuku.

This was loads of fun and i met lots of people. ;-)

ooh and i sold a few works. ;-))

also i started a mural on the wall ( i am soo lucky to be able to do one)

i used black POSCA pens and i may even add colour, will be a fun mission though.

sorry for the quality of the photos, the light wasnt the best for my mobile camera. :-P

New min Exhibition

i am having a mini exhibition at the Design Festa Gallery.
its only a very small space, but i will be pinning up a few of my works.
the title of this mini exhibition is "kakurega".

STREET ART ZINE and sketch.

I have been taking lots Photos of the street Art here, Its a gold mine. once you starting looking you find it everywhere. infact i have never actualy seen anyone stick or paste or spray anything, but their must be hordes of people doing it at some time. so i guess it must be at night or really early in the morning or something.

so i love the stickers and stencils the most, most tags are pretty lame. but there is a few good ones here and there.

I dont know who the artists are of some of these stickers and pasties, but they get around. i keep finding the same artists in all sorts of crazy nooks and behind and under things.

Their seems to be a few rulez, like no tagging gov buildings and new shiny walls.

so i have put all my 1 megapixel photos into my own zines. So far i have made about 5 copies an 2 issues.

if anyone would like one, please email me your address and i will send you a Zine if you send me something.(surprise me)

other wise i will keep making them for the sake of my own enjoyment.

This is a new sketch i did a few days ago.

more walking and drawing.

i walked from shinjuku to shibuya and around between the two.

This is city

is filled with iconic images waiting to be photographed.

i found a cool gallery

with a selection of japanese artists and others. here is 2 images of Clay Models. quite large.... they look strangely real.

the name tag is for the girl in red. it would be nice to sell your work for 6000 dollers a piece.

i really like the blue guy.

it has so much life and coolness in it.

actually it oozes coolness.

Monday:

Its hot...its humid, its tokyo summer almost!

so i lay in front of the steiro with some new cds i got from the ¥100 box. i had picked some good ones! lucky because i buy random cds if i like the cover artwork!

someone made me a very strong coffie and buzzed the rest of the day with the tunes and artwork.

also i chucked on some Andy and george band who i miss greatly and i have know split! ;-( so that was nice to listen to.

anyway today im working a new large artwork.

its quite a different size to what im used to.

so there is alot of paper to cover and problem solving to be done.

i will post a picture of this work soon.
